New Barn

2006 & 2012

This young family wanted a contemporary new-build barn that made the most of the views to the rear over the countryside whilst presenting a slightly more traditional oak clad appearance on the road side in a picturesque village near Midhurst. Glazed walls of Crittall windows and doors facing the fields let in north light, with a sliding folding screen to the stair hall allowing easy access to the garden terrace and pool to the rear. Cast concrete is used as a contrast to the lightweight construction and floating staircase. The later phase included a garage building and office above with a fully glazed gable wall to mirror the house.
